Sage Abra HRMS Hardware Requirements

Recommended Workstation Configurations

  • Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT 4.0 Workstation or higher
  • Pentium processor 333 MHz or higher
  • 64 to 128MB of RAM for Windows 95/98 and 64 to 128MB for Windows NT Workstation, minimum (64-128MB RAM recommended for clients running Payroll)
  • 500 MB of hard disk space for full Suite installation and personnel data
  • CD ROM drive, plus a 3.5" disk drive
  • SVGA Color Monitor
  • 100 Mbps network card for network installations (10 Mbps minimum)
  • HP LaserJet 4 or higher compatible laser printer with 2MB of memory

Recommended Server Configurations

  • Windows NT 4.0 Server or higher or Novell Netware 3.11 or higher
  • Pentium or Pentium PRO processor 466 MHz or greater
  • 256 MB of RAM, minimum
  • 4+ GB hard disk
  • 150MB for software, 160MB for Documentation, 50MB-100MB for Data
  • 100 Mbps network card, data hub and cabling
  • CD ROM drive plus a 3.5 disk drive
  • SVGA Color Monitor
  • Streaming tape or other back-up device (Client responsible for daily back-ups)
  • Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS)

Printers

  • HP-4, HP-5P, HP-6P or HP-4000 TN laser printer with 2MB of memory recommended
  • Abra Suite does not support dot matrix printers

Compatible Networks

  • Novell Netware 3.11 or higher
  • MS Windows NT Server 4.0 or higher
  • Windows NT, 95 or 98 peer-to-peer network environments are not supported

Abra Recruiting Solution Requirements

  • Pentium processor 333 MHz or higher
  • 128 MB RAM
  • Microsoft Outlook, Full Version (i.e. not Express)

  • Abra Recruiting Solution V 6.1
  • 56k modem or faster
  • Internet connection/ recruiting address

Abra ESS System Requirements

Operating System

  • Microsoft Windows NT Server or Workstation 4.0 or later with Service Pack 4 or later
  • To verify that NT version 4 and service pack 4 (minimum) are installed, open the Start Menu on the server and select Programs/Administrative Tools/Windows NT Diagnostics. Select Help/About from the menu.

Software

  • Abra Suite 6.x with Abra Advanced Toolkit installed

To verify that Toolkit is installed, launch Abra Suite from the Activity Center. Select System/Processes and confirm that Custom Abra Suite Menu is in the list of processes.

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x or 5.x or Netscape Navigator 4.x

To verify the version, click Help/About in the browser.

  • NT Server: Microsoft Option Pack 4 with Internet Information Server (IIS) and Microsoft Transaction Server (MTS); These products must be installed with the default installation options for best results.

To verify that the NT option pack is installed, open the Start Menu, select Programs and look for the NT 4 Option Pack folder.

  • NT Workstation: Microsoft Option Pack 4 with Personal Web Server and Microsoft Transaction Server(MTS)

  • Windows 2000 Server: Internet Information Server (this can be installed from the Windows 2000 installation CDs)
  • Windows 2000 Professional: Personal Web Server (this can be installed from the Windows 2000 installation CDs)
  • SQL Server (not required): If SQL Server 6.5 is installed on the PC, you need a second server on which to install the Abra ESS database. If SQL Server 7.0 is installed on the PC, you need to know the SQL Server SA (System Administrator) password.

  • A backup of your entire Abra Suite Directory
  • Windows NT Server or Workstation SA (System Administrator) user name and password. (You must log into the PC as the NT Server System Administrator before beginning the installation.)
  • If SQL server is installed, the SA password
  • Location of the …\Abra Suite\Data folder
  • Abra ESS Registration Code for your company
  • SMTP address of your mail server
  • Abra Alerts System Requirements
  • A dedicated server running Microsoft Windows NT Server version 4.0, Service Pack 5 or later
  • Microsoft Data Access Components, version 2.1 or later (Abra Alerts installs MDAC 2.5)
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01, Service Pack 2 or higher
  • A minimum 200 MHZ Pentium processor
  • A minimum of 128 MB RAM
  • A minimum 100 MB storage for program installation. Additional storage space is required for Data Monitor snapshots and the log file
  • MAPI email agent requires Microsoft Outlook 97 with Service Pack 2, Outlook 98, Outlook 2000*, or Microsoft Exchange Client 5.5 or higher. This requirement implies a working Microsoft Exchange server.
  • SMTP email agent requires an available SMTP server

*Note: When using Outlook 2000, you need to install the Collaborative Data Object (CDO), which by default is not installed; you must choose a custom install and select it from the menu.
